I'm pretty ecstatic about my animation being on here, even if it comes off as pretty mediocre.

I spent 2002 - 2007 binging on videos from here with my best friend. From junior high through high school we spent hours watching all the cringey, edgy, gross, and sometimes beautifully hand crafted things this site has to offer. Then we moved on to other things. My best friend and I both got older and we grew apart as it happens. He did his thing, and I started spinning my wheels for the better part of a decade. I wanted to draw and write stories. I wanted to make all manner of things, but I never knew how to fully commit. I went through bouts of trying to overcompensate for my lack of action and long droughts of inaction...

Fast forward to the last three years.

I believe it was a comment on YouTube that mentioned something about Newgrounds, I can't really remember what the content of the comment ways, but that triggered something in my brain. I came here and was hit with that nostalgic feel. Seeing all the hard work people put into things, the intense labors of love, it was good to see this place.

I've made quite a few things now. A lot of what I've produced is junk. A small portion of it is mediocre, and of the rest, a smidgen is decent. There will always be more junk than gems, but it's the mediocre moments that give me hope that I'll be getting to where I need to be soon enough.

I never thought I would be able to make something that I could honestly put on Newgrounds. Everything I've ever tried to make was always a stuggle and felt like I was going against the current, and now, all these years later, I actually have something here.

It's a good feeling.
